Our vision: to cultivate ecological community and leadership, through transformative environmental and holistic education, to help restore balance with the Earth. The goal of our events and programs is to foster the knowledge, skills, natural senses, and wisdom needed to live in balance with all of life on Earth. We believe that transformative environmental and holistic education are required to create thriving and socially just local communities, and is an essential need as we address profound challenges as a planetary community.
Our mission: to provide workshops, retreats, and training programs that bring forth Earth-honoring ideas, leadership skills, spiritual practices and healing modalities. Our programs empower participants to become leaders engaged in healing their individual lives, communities, and our world. Our programs are hands on, experiential, and outdoors whenever possible. Blending mind, body, spirit, and Earth into our learning, LEI programs integrate the whole self while attending to multiple ways of knowing.

To support the growth of Earth intelligence, LEI offers programs in the fields of:

Spiritual Ecology
Ecotherapy and Ecopsychology

Indigenous Ways of Knowing
Earth-Connected Energy Healing Modalities
and EarthConscious Leadership

We deem access to the many elements of a sustainable lifestyle, including transformative environmental education, to be a basic human right.  It is integral to our mission to support entry to our programs for people at all levels of income. Lake Erie Institute programs and services are available to all people through a sliding fee scale to our events, and income based scholarships to our training programs. Welcome to the online home of LEI. It’s been my dream for 20 years to start an educational institute to bring transformative environmental thought and practices to Northeast Ohio, and beyond, through community education. My inspiration for developing programs at Lake Erie Institute is the result of two decades of personal practice, scholarship, and teaching in the fields of environment thought and spirituality.

2018 is year two for the Lake Erie Institute!  Will are thrilled with the outpouring of support and involvement from the Northeast Ohio community and beyond.  I hope that you will become a part of this emerging, Earth-wisdom community. I look forward to seeing you at one of our inspiring, life-honoring programs.
