WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

In this 4-hour workshop, we will spend time getting back to the basics of our WHY for spiritual practice. Sometimes the day-to-day noise begins knocking louder and louder on our doors. It says hurry up, you’ve no time to meditate.  Journaling is a WASTE of time! Come on, you’ve got a life to live and dry cleaning to pick up.

We have all been here. Ok maybe not the dry cleaning, but you get the point. Time seems to speed up and our daily practice drops off. I call this the Shadow side of self-care. Something that feels so good to us, should be a given to keep up with, but it’s not. Self-care and spiritual basics are a form of intimacy that we all too often shy away from. You know how it is when you get too close too fast to the one thing you want more than anything. It’s a fear of intimacy and it can arise in your spiritual practice.
During our time together we will spend time with “Not-doing.” This is a practice I learned during my time in Warrior Goddess training. Not doing is a practice of unlearning the ways you are most used to doing something.

We seldom stop to ask ourselves does this “x, y or z” feel good to me? Does it fill up my cup? The art of Not-doing is to move away from habit, or rote practices, towards what your soul wants you to experience and devote yourself to.

But how do you know?

That is why we are getting back to the basics. It is an invitation for you to discern what is most aligned with where you are today. Not based on what you’ve been doing, what you think you *should* do. Instead, we are opening to what you can’t NOT do. This clarity will let your soul breathe.

Giving ourselves the time to align with simple practices that become a foundation in our spiritual lives helps us to live from a place of hearing more and more often, the BIG fat yes. This place is what we most yearn for but get confused by in our daily listening. A “back to basics” approach helps us to leave the confusion, worry or doubt behind and get ourselves back in our bones to the core of our WHY.
